A professional dental cleaning removes the plaque and tartar that build up along the gumline and between the teeth — including the places your toothbrush cannot reach. Even with a good daily routine, hard deposits form over time that can only be removed at the clinic. Regular cleaning is one of the simplest ways to keep both teeth and gums healthy.
Why it matters
Plaque consists of bacteria that irritate the gums and, over time, can lead to inflammation, cavities and ultimately periodontitis. By removing it calmly and thoroughly, we stop the process before it becomes a problem. At the same time, it gives us the opportunity to check your teeth and catch early cavities while the solution is still small.
How it works
We clean gently with hand instruments and ultrasound, which loosens tartar without wearing down the enamel. Finally, we polish the teeth so the surface is smooth and a little more resistant to new plaque. If parts of your gums are tender, we take that into account as we go — there is no reason for it to feel unpleasant.
